Lama di Luna Biomasseria, Andria

The Lama di Luna is a nineteenth-century farmhouse in Andria which is located on a 190 hectare estate among olive trees, vineyards, almond groves and cherry orchards.

At one time a dwelling for tenant farmers and sharecroppers, the structure was completely renovated according to the principles of bio-architecture and with respect to the original lines thereby conserving the style and pre-existing materials such as the antique tables, the bricks and the fixtures.

The rooms were carefully designed down to the minimum detail in order to guarantee comfort and complete relaxation for the guests.

With its forty chimneypots, scattered “trulli” houses and “cave,” the Lama di Luna offers a suggestive context in which to experience unforgettable moments in full contact with nature.

An ample Library and a panoramic veranda are available for breakfast service.

Itineraries and excursions can be organized to the characteristics villages in the area (Trani, Andria, Minervino, among others), as well as to the castles of the Emperor Frederick such as Castel del Monte and to beautiful natural sights such as the Alta Murgia National Park or the Saline di Margherita di Savoia Park .

The ample and luminous rooms, at one time dwellings for sharecroppers, are equipped with fireplaces and all face the internal courtyard.

Each room features solid wood beds made from pines and olive trees or brass beds dating back to the 1800s (oriented north), mattresses in natural latex foam, sheets and towels in raw natural cotton, terracotta sinks and soaps made from olive oil.

Hot water and heating are guaranteed by 48 solar panels.
