Palazzo Paleologi Resort, Lu

A delicious continental buffet breakfast is served upon request for a cost of around € 10 per person.

The Antico Monastero Restaurant is only available in the evenings for dinner with a reservation. It offers a charming and elegant atmosphere where guests can experience the art of delicious cuisine and fine hospitality.

The menu includes delicious traditional recipes belonging to Nonna Maria prepared with modern and innovative touches. The ingredients are carefully selected according to seasonal availability from the Luese area.

The wine list includes the finest labels of Monferrato coming from local vineyards:

Barbera del Monferrato, Barbera d'Asti, Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese, Grignolino d'Asti, Rubino di Cantavenna, Gabiano, Malvasia di Casorzo, Bonarda, Freisa, Moscato and Barbesino.

The Antico Monastero also offers guests the chance to experience the menu of the Marchesi Paleologi, with dishes and tastings from the mediaeval traditions of the noble family.

The specialities available include delicate vegetable sformato with a light bagna cauda sauce, traditional Agnolotti (piemontesi, alessandrini, Rabaton), Piedmont meat fillets or wild game with walnut purée.

Excellent cheeses are also available, including Robiola di Roccaverano, Robiola del bec, Mòntebore, Pan di pan and Seirass del fen.

Meats come from Piedmont cattle ranches.

The typical vegetables available include the famous Cardo Gobbo di Nizza Monferrato, Asti peppers, and Vinchio asparagus.

By car

From Milan:

Take the A4 motorway towards Turin and after the junction for Biandrate, take the A26 Genova – Voltri – Gravellona motorway towards Genova. Exit at Casale Sud and follow the directions for Alessandria. After 15 km, enter Mirabello Monferrato and upon reaching the town centre, turn right towards Lu.

After 5 km, upon reaching the piazza in Lu, follow the directions for Palazzo Palelologi.

From Milano Sud and Linate Airport:

Take the A7 motorway towards Genova and after Tortona, take the A21 Torino – Piacenza motorway towards Torino to the Alessandria Ovest exit.

From Trieste – Venice – Padua:

Take the A4 Torino – Trieste motorway to Brescia, then take the A21 Piacenza – Alessandria – Torino motorway to the Alessandria Ovest exit.

From Bologna:

Take the A1 Autostrada del Sole motorway to Piacenza, then take the A21 Piacenza – Alessandria – Torino motorway to the Alessandria Ovest exit.

From Florence, Genoa, and Genoa Airport:

Take the A11 motorway to Genoa, follow the directions for Alessandria – Milano, and take the A26 motorway to the Alessandria Ovest exit.

From Turin and Turin Airport:

Take the A21 Alessandria – Piacenza motorway to the Alessandria Ovest exit.

From the Alessandria Ovest tollbooth, follow the directions for Casale – Vercelli, turn onto the SS31 state road and after around 1km, head towards Castelletto Monferrato – San Salvatore; from here, follow the directions for Lu.

From Piazza di Lu, follow the directions for Palazzo Paleologi.

By train

From the Alessandria railway station on the Turin – Genoa railway line, head to the ARFEA bus stop and take the Lu Monferrato bus. Get off in the piazza in Lu and follow the directions for Palazzo Paleologi (300 m away).

By plane
