Two major complaints about this hotel - Firstly we were told the hotel had parking which was our primary reason for booking and upon arrival we were informed that the parking had to be prebooked and none was available despite there being a space at the door. We had to pay an additional charge for parking away from the hotel.
My second complaint is that I booked a double room and therefore expected a room with a proper bed. Instead we were in a room with two sagging camp beds pushed together. This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel with a 3 star rating.
The man at reception was incredibly rude, serving 3 other parties that arrived after us while we were trying to understand the parking issue and get our key. He proceeded to argue with the other guests across us, most unprofessional. When I asked to speak to a person in charge who had English to help better resolve the confusion he refused. This experience was unbelievable for a hotel you rate so highly and promote through your website.
The air conditioning unit which rattles so badly you are afraid it is going to fall off the wall was stuffed with cardboard and is controlled by a communal panel in the hallway outside the bedrooms so every time a guest wishes to adjust it they have to go out into the corridor to do so. Disruptive and very inconvenient.
The following evening I went to reception to ask the owner/manager for additional pillows to try to make the sagging camp bed somewhat comfortable in the hopes of getting any sleep. He did not move off the couch in reception to assist with my query from the front desk and grunted that he didn't know where they were kept and only the cleaning ladies did. Hard to believe the owner doesn't know his hotel and another clear indication of his disinterest in providing any form of customer service. Both mornings that he served us breakfast.
In the lobby of the hotel there is a hole in the roof so you can see up to the first floor that has not been repaired and there is no sign of any intention to repair it. Not confidence building in the care and maintenance of the building.
The only positives for this hotel are the fantastic cleaning ladies who are friendly and polite and the hotel's close proximity to the train station.
