Reviews Hotel Royal - Florence

Das Hotel war eine wirklich sehr positive Überraschung, nachdem wir vorher einige negative Kommentare gelesen hatten. Die Zimmer waren groß, das Zustellbett als drittes Bett vollwertig, Klimaanlage funktionierte in den heißen Juli-Tagen hervorragend. Das Frühstück war für italienische Verhältnisse sehr gut und die Kaffeeautomat mit alle möglichen Variationen einfach hervorragend.

Der Pool (kostenpflichtig; 8 Euro pro Person) und Garten waren eine Oase der Ruhe und für die Mittagszeit eine geniale Entspannung. Der Parkplatz auf dem Hotelvorplatz (kostenpflichtig 25 Euro/Nacht) war gut und ich fühlte das Auto dort gut aufgehoben. Die Nähe zur Innenstadt (zum Dom ca. 10 min. Fußweg) ist einfach genial. Sehr empfehlenswert und vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut! Hier würden wir (Familie mit 4 Kindern von 12 - 18 Jahre) auf jeden Fall wieder herkommen!

The hotel staff assistence is ok, and the price is reasonble but: breakfast is terrible and not a well functioning (free) wifi is not acceptable anymore these days. Every hotel will have to be Internet proof within a few years or otherwise loose customers. Especially now that quite a few guests that visit the European University Institute stay in Hotel Royal (close to the bus stop). Those people want to be able to work at night.

Parking payant très cher ( 25 euros la nuit ).

Un accueil déplorable sans amabilité. Le paiement de la place de parking payable obligatoirement en espèce de 25 euros plus le coffre 2 euros. Un petit déjeuner très médiocre. ( il n'y avait pas de fruit, ni de yaourt , ni fromage blanc).

Séjour rapport qualité/prix correct , climatisation bruyante, personnel peu sympathique et petit déjeuner peu varié.

Hôtel pratique de part sa courte distance avec le centre-ville et son parking privé à 25€ la nuit, c'est la seule et unique raison pour laquelle je le recommanderai!

Les chambres sont d'une autre époque, au confort spartiate et à la décor ridicule. Le petit déjeuner est mal organisé. Une note positive cependant est la situation.

Breakfast is very bad!!!!!!

you have to pay 8 euro a day per person for the swimmingpool, very strange that it was not included. (for me the first time that in your hotel you have to pay for the swimmingpool)

25 euro per night for parking your car is also very expensive

Shocked having to pay 8 euros pp for the pool per day. Not only that, the allocation of hard platic seating was sparse and pre-grouped into 3's. Two chairs and 1 bed x 3 in total. We were surprised when a family of three children were left unchallenged dragging chairs in and out of the pool with parents ignoring them. Wanting to sit and relax in the garden the next day was not an option. Having sat on the grass to write postcards we were promptly asked to move by a grieved member of staff. We were expected to sit at one of the littIe garden tables (small, wrought iron, and very uncomfortable). These were on pebbles in the shade and set for groups of 3 again. We were told we couldn't sit in the large garden or use chairs on the pool side either, unless we paid 8 euros. The internet connection didn't work in the room and we had to sit downstairs near reception to get it. This was 3-4 euros for half an hour. Two of our party of four thoughtfully moved to the next room with leather chairs and occasional tables with newspapers, to finish breakfast tea and aid the staff to clear tables. We were approached to move, as they didn't want to set a precident for others to do the same. We felt unable to relax in the surroundings we had specifically chosen which was the point of our break. All female party of four, 70+, 50+,2x 20+ on a first family together holiday. Dissappointed! Oh and we were eaten alive and spent 40euros on sprays and smoke repellents for the room.

La chambre quadruple était une chambre triple avec un lit en supplément ! (lit de camp)

La salle de bain était très petite et les carreaux étaient fendus.

The walls were too thin, you can here noise all night from neighbouring rooms & elevator movement.

Location is very central

Staff very nice & courteous

Not much for breakfast.
