General Description
The old Poggio Oliveto farm was built in the 16th-century by the Venturi family of Roccastrada, and became a budding village during the 19th-century under the supervision of the Gherardesca counts.
Located in the green hills of the Maremma, with 115 hectares of land, the Curatolo family have owned the village since 1982 and have made significant improvements to the building and the activities, restoring it to its ancient splendour.
The complex is composed of a characteristic colonial horseshoe-shaped house containing sleeping accommodation for the guests and the owners. Next to the house is an oil mill, still used to produce extra virgin olive oil, a small church and an old octagonal-shaped well.
The farm has 7 comfortable apartments, a breakfast room, a library, an Internet Point, a 6 x 12 m. swimming pool (open from April to September), a free laundry service, a shop selling typical products from the Maremma and a tasting room.
