General Description
The Il Gelso Bed & Breakfast is situated on the outskirts of Monteroni di Lecce, in the heart of the Salento.
The perfect choice for pleasant trips to the countryside, a short distance from the beach and all the major cities in the Salento, Il Gelso B & B is also an excellent base from which to reach the Lecce University campus, the Institutes of Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricercha, the Citta' di Lecce Hospital, the National Laboratory and Nanotecnologie.
The villa has three fresh, spacious rooms situated on the lower ground floor and there is also a large lounge with a library, an olive wood table and a large fireplace where guests can relax whilst watching TV or reading a good book.
Among the services offered to guests are: a 24 hour reception service, free Wi-Fi access, free bicycles (only for those staying longer than one week), a free transfer service to/from Lecce train station and a transfer service to Brindisi and Bari Airports - charges apply.
From the B&B guests are within easy reach of the Ionian and Adriatic coast of the Salentino coastline including the towns of Gallipoli, Porto Selvaggio, Castro, Otranto, the thermal spas in Santa Cesarea, Santa Maria di Leuca as well as Melpignano famous "Taranta" festival, Nardò, Galatina, Copertino and the comunes of the Grecìa Salentina area.

The guest rooms are spacious and luminous and are decorated in a simple style with air conditioning. The rooms on the ground floor are cooler with big windows.
Some of the rooms feature shared bathrooms (shared by two rooms) others have an external en suite bathroom.
One of doubled rooms has an internal en suite bathroom.

How to reach the hotel
By car
From the A14 Bologna – Taranto motorway, take the Bari exit and continue along the Brindisi – Lecce expressway.
Just before reaching Lecce after the industrial area, take the Tangenziale Ovest di Lecce and head towards Gallipoli to the Monteroni exit.
Head towards the university and upon reaching Monteroni, turn left before the Agip petrol station. Continue straight through town going past the post office, numerous intersections and stop signs until reaching Via Po.
Continue following the directions for the B&B.
From the SS Leuca – Gallipoli – Lecce state road, take the Copertino – San Donato exit and head towards Copertino.
Upon reaching a large traffic circle, head towards Monteroni.
After around 4km, after the athletic field, turn right onto Via Copertino and the hotel is located after 200m on the right.
