Campo Regio Relais, Siena

The Campo Regio Relais is an antique residence located in the historic centre of Siena; at one time it served as the noble residence for the Salimbeni, the Griccioli and the Zondadari until becoming (in 1914) the home of Helen Robins, an elegant lady from Philadelphia (sister-in-law of Joseph Pennell, the noted American illustrator).

The structure, known as the "Palazzo del Pappagallo" (The Palace of the Parrots) faces an elegant sixteenth-century entrance on via della Sapienza, and with its beautiful terraces and ample windows, it embraces the large open spaces of Camporegio and a splendid panorama of the tower of the Mangia, the Cathedral, the Santa Caterina Sanctuary and the San Domenico Church.
