By boat
The island of Salina can be reached by the ferryboats and hydrofoil boats run by Siremar, Ustica Lines and Snav leaving from the ports of Milazzo, Messina, Palermo, Cefalù, Naples and Reggio Calabria.
The public bus on the island makes regular stops at both of the ports in the Pollara neighbourhood in the municipality of Malfa.
By plane
The local airports are:

- Reggio Calabria Tito Minniti Airport;
- Palermo Punta Raisi Falcone Borsellino International Airport.
From Catania Airport, a shuttle service is available to the port of Milazzo with a reservation that has an agreement with Federalberghi delle Isole Eolie.
The island of Salina can also be reached by helicopter or seaplane.
