By ferry and hydrofoil
Lipari is accessible by ferry or speedboat from the following ports:
- Milazzo (1 hour by hydrofoil; 2 hours by ferry);
- Messina (1 hour by hydrofoil);
- Reggio Calabria (2 hours by hydrofoil);
- Palermo (3 hours by hydrofoil);
- Naples (4 hours by hydrofoil; 9 hours by ferry).
By plane
- From Catania – Fontanarossa Airport between June and September, take a “Giunta Bus” for Milazzo port where the “Siremar” or “Ustica Lines” shipping companies operate from.
Throughout the year there are links from the airport to Messina station with “SAIS” coaches. From Messina station take a “Giunta Bus” to the port of Milazzo.
- From Palermo – Punta Raisi International Airport, there is a shuttle bus provided by the “Prestia e comande” company which goes directly to the port (approximately 40 minutes journey time), from where the “Ustica Lines” hydrofoils depart.
